WC/WCX REQUIREMENTS

 

Dead birds (ducks) will be used unless stated elsewhere.

Land shall be a single retrieve of approx. 50 yards in light cover.

Water shall be back-to-back single retrieves of no more than 30 yards. One bird should be in swimming water if possible.  No decoys will be used.

Throwers & gunners will be in full view (this is not a marking test).

Dog does not need to be steady or deliver to hand but judge may designate an area for delivery.

The dog should not be gunshy.


The gunners/throwers will give a call on a duck call, throw the duck, then shoot a shotgun while the bird is in the air.

You must wait until the judge releases your dog before you send the dog for the retrieve.

You may encourage the dog if needed.

Choke chains/prong collars/gentle leaders/electronic collars will not be allowed on any dogs running the test.  If using a collar, the collar must be a plain buckle collar.

Any dog not passing WC land will not be allowed to run the water portion of the test.

 

GLLL WCX REQUIREMENTS

Dead birds (ducks) will be used unless stated elsewhere.

Land shall be double retrieves of approx. 75 yards in moderate to moderately heavy cover.

Dog must deliver to hand.

Water shall be double retrieves of approx. 40-50 yards.

Decoys may or may not be used.  Any dog retrieving a decoy will be disqualified.


Handlers must wear camo, beige/neutral, dark colors.  No white will be allowed.

Gunners will be hidden and wearing camo, beige/neutral, dark colors..

Dog must heel to line off lead, under verbal control of handler, and be steady.

It is left to the descretion of the judge whether or not stools, buckets or blinds will be used at the line.

It is left to the descretion of the judge whether or not any boats will be used on water for throwing and gunning.

The dog should not be gunshy.
